It is amazing to see the amount of support that your community has for their school, their teams, and specifically athletes, what a proud thing it is. To drive around the community and see the number of new signs popping up and hearing people of all ages talk about Fredericktown football is absolutely a great thing and one of the best parts about living in this small community. While the Fredericktown area bleeds Scarlet and Gray from being within the great “Buckeye State,” we bleed Scarlet and Gray for our Freddies!
Let us not forget that while to many it is “M*chigan week” and talk about the big game has been going on since last Saturday, that this Saturday it is “Coldwater Week”, and the big game is at 7:00pm at St. Francis DeSales High School in Columbus. The ’85 FHS Alum said it best in pacing yourselves for the Fredericktown game tomorrow night and it couldn’t have been put any better way. Your Freddies area playing in the final four OHSAA Division 5 Championship and the game is being held a mere hour away from home.
Why am I saying this? As a photojournalist who is on the sidelines at Ohio State games, been a part of tailgating in some adverse conditions, and seen many a Freddie at these games, we need to turn out in full force to stand behind our boys Saturday night, November 27 as they take on the Cavalier’s. With close to 5300 seats in the home section alone, that leaves plenty of space to bring the entire town with us. If you’ve already been to the see the noon Buckeye game and been out in the freezing weather, whats a few hours more to cheer on and support your team to a victory.
GO FREDDIES!!!
